See Thor’s Transformation in Hilarious ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Set ClipMarvel Spotlight Plays Turn High Schoolers Into Superheroes Stay on target Since Marvel’s been busy with the upcoming releases of both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we haven’t heard much from Thor: Ragnarok. The movie releases later this year, but all we’ve seen of it is that Thor has short hair and a new love interest. That is, until this morning. Marvel released a trailer for the God of Thunder’s third film, and it looks to have everything you’d want in a Thor movie. The teaser promises huge battles, Thor’s goofy enthusiasm and Tom Hiddleston looking pretty.Have we really gone this long without Marvel using “Immigrant Song” in one of these movies? The trailer reads like someone saw Guardians of the Galaxy and decided to steal some of that movie’s tricks. That’s not a bad thing. The 1970 classic rock anthem, while maybe a bit overused in pop culture, fits the character and adds some fun to a series that can be a little overdramatic at times. Thor’s reaction to seeing The Hulk at the end of the trailer is a reassuring indication that this movie won’t take itself too seriously. Director Taika Waititi, of the hysterical vampire comedy What We Do in the Shadows, has left his mark all over this movie, from the looks of this teaser.Cate Blanchett looks great and scary as Hela, the Asgardian goddess of death. Right at the outset, we see her destroy Mjolnir, which makes things interesting. What is Thor without his hammer? That should be a fun question for this movie to wrestle with. Especially once he’s forced to fight in an intergalactic gladiator tournament headed by Jeff Goldblum. That’s another exciting thing about this teaser. I don’t care how the rest of this movie is; I’m here for anything starring Jeff Goldblum and his weird laugh. And then there’s Loki. Yes, he’s back and looking like he just walked out of a shampoo commercial. Don’t think I didn’t notice his long, flowing locks contrasted with his brother’s new buzz cut. The trailer doesn’t actually give much us much information as to what his role in this movie will be. We know he’s been impersonating Odin since the last movie. Will he be found out? It looks like he’ll be a part of the battle against Hela, but then we see him next to Jeff Goldblum at the tournament. Is he trying to win Thor’s freedom, or is there something else going on? He has a very small role in the trailer, but I think we’ll see quite a lot of him in the movie. All of Tumblr might revolt if we didn’t.
