Brexit meets Grexit in Athens political cartoons exhibition

The station’s exhibition area is hosting a cartoon exhibition focusing on the European Union and the member-countries’ relations. Organised by the Greek Cartoonists’ Association, “Sweet Europe” offers a humorous and acute commentary on the plight of the European Union and the european culture, given the rise of fascism, xenophobia, unemployment and inequality. Given the impact of ‘Brexit’ on EU, the Greek Cartoonists Association invited 28 British cartoonists: Terry Anderson, Nathan Ariss, Sally Artz, Jeremy Banx, Rupert Besley, Andrew Birch, Steve “Brighty” Bright , Dave Brown, Matthew Buck, Andy Davey, Peter Dredge, Noel Ford, Steve “Jonesy” Jones, Chris Madden, Glenn Marshall, The _Surreal_McCoy, Fran Orford, Ken Pyne, Royston Robertson, Martin Rowson, William Rudling, Tim Ruscoe, Liam Higgins Saunders, Peter Schrank, Bill Stott, Mike Turner, Colin Whittock, Kipper Williamsto join the 29 Greek ones:Tasos Anastasiou, Kostas Vlahos, Dimitris Georgopalis, Kostas Grigoriadis, Spiros Derveniotis, Dranis, Panos Zaharis, Petros Zervos, John Antono, Yannis Ioannou, Mihalis Kountouris, Ilias Makris, Panos Maragos, Panagiotis Milas, Vasilis ‘Bas’ Mitropoulos, Kostas Mitropoulos, Panagiotis Mitsobonos, Efi Xenou, Spiros Ornerakis, Vasilis Papageorgiou, Vaggelis Pavlidis, Andreas Petroulakis, Konstantinos Rougeris, Soloup, Stathis, Maria Tzaboura, Dimitris Hatzopoulos, Vaggelis Herouvim taking part in the exhibition, not only with their work, but also by being there and guiding visitors.last_img read more
